| So what is everyone's thoughts on the character of John Blake? Just a cop who wants to help Batman or the most likely candidate to take over for the Caped Crusader? | |

| I think John Blake is going to be a Gordon type character who actually helps Batman out instead of all the other police people thinking he's a bad guy. | |

| Honestly one of my theories is that he could turn out to be an Oracle-like figure...another friend of Batman's who goes more hardcore than Gordon... | |

| Maybe. We definitely know he is in the action where there is that set photo where he has this oil tank in his hand and a camo tumbler drives by, I have a feeling he sabotaged it somehow but I don't know | |

| Yeah he definitely is sabotaging it...I mean I don't know for a fact, but the clues lead to that. That's what I meant by he is willing to go farther than Gordon and do all of this vigilante-like work, most likely to aid Batman or under Batman's orders. | |

| I was pretty much convinced from the beginning, I mean it's Nolan so you never know what he might throw at you...on the whole he looks like he'll probably go rogue | |

| Good guy. I look at him as the Robin of this universe (aka I don't think there will be a Robin in Nolan's Trilogy) he is an alley to Batman and a new cop to Gotham. | |

| There are also rumors going around that he is actually Alberto Falcone or Azrael...

| people who think that seem to forget what bruce went through as far as combat training with the league of shadows, and all of the resources he has. you can't just throw a cop into batmans costume and expect him to transition seamlessly into the role. it just doesn't make sense | |

| I agree with Matt and think he's just a "good cop" who is going to be important while Gordon is incapacitated from his wounds. | |

| I kept out of this because I thought there might be spoilers (though not really, it's just speculation! :P).
Yeah, seems like good cop, probably taken under Gordon's wing, don't know if he'd actually fully take over as Batman ... perhaps temporarily if Bane 'breaks' Batman? Though that might be where Catwoman gets on Batmans side after she sees how far Bane is willing to go.

| The only reason I believe that he'll be more than just a cop (wow Batman Begins reference there :P haha) is because the trailers are always focusing on him, apparently waiting for Batman to come back. And he apparently knows Selina Kyle too. And what about that little kid we see with him? Who's he supposed to be? | |

| According to IMDB, his name is Aramis Knight. But his character name is unlisted. | |

Seems like some kids end up homeless or something, as we see in one of the trailers kids looking out the window in despair, in the Nolan Batman universe we don't see children that much, but where we do they tend to be trusting Batman more so than the adults, e.g. the kid in Batman Begins with Rachel convinced that Batman will save him, Gordon's son in The Dark Knight .. "Batman... waaait!! .. why is he running dad"? Seems like in such a time of chaos with no Batman around (he has been gone for 8 years, and considered a criminial by the people of Gotham), perhaps some kids aren't quite convinced, and are some of the first to trust for him to come back? So I guess, the kid might not be anything more signifcant than say the kid in Batman Begins was.
