My Batman Begins Review Empty
PostSubject: My Batman Begins Review   My Batman Begins Review I_icon_minitimeWed Jul 18, 2012 1:34 pm

As we are approaching the release date for The Dark Knight Rises I would like to make reviews for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and my opinion about these two films.

STORY: I thought the story was very entertaining and I loved Nolan's take on Batman's origins and how we were shown his training process and how he became Batman. I thought the story was well thought up and the pacing was fluid. I liked that he started with lesser known villains like Scarecrow and Ras Al Ghul ( I thought the cameo of Victor Zsasz was pretty cool too). By starting with lesser known villains I felt more people who weren't into the comic books had more interest towards these characters after they had seen this movie.

THE WRITING: I thought the writing was very good and had some very memorable lines for example;

EX. "Why do we fall?"

"So we can learn to pick ourselves up"

Just to name one but there are a few more memorable lines.

THE ACTING: i thought everyone did a fantastic job but the weakest i would say is Katie Holmes but don't get me wrong she wasn't horrible but she was just the weakest. Christian Bale in my opinion is the best Batman/Bruce there is live-action. I could go on and on about every character, but every actor did their character justice and they did great.

THE SCORE/SOUNDTRACK: I love this score by Hans Zimmer/James Newton Howard and I have the whole thing on my iPhone and Hans Zimmer is my favorite composer and before him i was never really into scores. I think scores in general are very important in films but some people tend to not work on it enough as they should so its just average and the score doesn't stick out to people. Even though I enjoyed all tracks on the score Barbastella is my favorite, especially the last minute of it where we hear Batman's theme that was used in all 2 films and I think its used in the 3rd one also. This track was during the sizzle reel of The Dark Knight Rises prologue.

Overall the action was great and I loved that the stealth side of Batman was showed in this film a lot. i thought Batman's voice was great in this movie and it wasn't too much growl and it was perfectly balanced. Great writing. Great Story. Great Acting

9.5/10
